French Advertising On Coke

Just watched the film, 99 Francs – a massively black comedy with a fight club mentality and some very cool special effects.

The story, Octave is an advertising exec at the top of his game and the business, with a bad attitude, a heavy coke habit and a life verging on the surreal.

Working for the monolith advertising agency Ross & Witchcraft, we follow Octave on a spiralling decent through the advertising world, while working on a pitch and ad for a yoghurt called starlight, a white product produced by a very white company. While being an all round general dick, he falls in love, has to pander to corporate politics, suffers a catastrophe and starts to unravel, through this trip we see through the glossy veneer of the ad world and start to see elements of the real beneath.

This movie is a visual treat, a thought provoker and a black comedy.

Find it, Watch it, Enjoy it.
